Difficult Times
I know I have not been keeping my blog up. I know how exciting my life is and that everyone wants to read about first. All kidding aside. The devil has been trying his best to get to me. He is putting obstacles in my life that are just wearing me down. Mamaw being in the hospital, me getting sick, Trevor not calling, step-dad Jim in the hospital, my new hearing aid not working properly, and the pharmacy messed up my prescription and I was out of my anti-depressant for 2 week. I pray, but today I realized that most times my prayers are silent (or more like thoughts). I have had several good things come out of all of the bad and every thing has ended up good in the end, but I do not remember specifically praying for God's intervention. And then I wonder why the devil is attacking me. I prayed today and asked God to forgive me for going to to him first. Instead I tried to handle things myself and boy did I make a mess of myself. I am sure I offended a lot of people lately and if you are one of those people, I am truly sorry. I especially want to apologize to my very loving, caring, understanding, patient, and devoted husband.

Sparks-A-rama/AWANA Games
We took a group of Sparks to Sparks-A-Rama yesterday morning to compete against other area churches. We brought them back and then took a group of T&T clubbers to AWANA Games. The kids looked like they were having a blast. Sparks tied for 3rd (do not tel them it was out of 4). There were 13 other churches participating, but each church only competed against 3 other churches. T&T got 3rd (do not tell them it was out of 3). There were 16 area churches and most competed against 2 other churches. Our kids tried hard and did us proud by their Christian -like attitudes and sportsmanship. Jearomy Carlton worked hard to prepare for this event. I am not sure he knew what he was getting into when he agreed, but now he knows and I hear he is already planning for the Gold next year. Lew Leckrone assisted Jearomy and was a great team player. Shawn Erbe helped during Sparks-A-Rama and was a valuable asset. I wish he could have stayed and helped with T&T, but he had a "Nerd" prom to attend with his lovely daughter, Shawna. We look forward to a better year next. Angie Brown, Janelle Erbe, and I are already making a list of needed supplies for next year: knee pads, traction shoes, and gloves. We are pumped!!!

Don't Fall Over Dead
I know it has been weeks since I last posted. Life has been busy. I keep thinking I will keep up on the blog, but hen I realize how long it has been since I posted. Well, not much has happened except for my grandma being in the hospital. We just moved her to Health Care yesterday. I was not able to stop by ans see her today, but I know God is taking care of her. Continue to pray for her and the family. She is starting to show signs of dementia and it is very difficult at time. Well, I am going to go for now (and probably for a long time knowing me).

Andrew's Birthday
I can't believe he is seven. Yesterday was his birthday. I had planned on picking Andrew up and taking him to Mamaw so she could give him her present. Then I realized that Duke drove the car and all of his presents (except the big one) was in the trunk. I just Mamaw that we would be coming over due to the snow. I did I tell you it took me over 1 1.2 hours to drive 15 miles. I never got over 20 miles an hour. Boy, I love this city. Duke was out of town (Champagne, IL) and with all of this snow and it coming from the west, I did not think I would see him until midnight. But fortunately he made it before 9.
After he got home, we decided to give Andrew his big present. I hadn't wrapped it, so I made him cover his eyes and Duke drought it down stairs. He then picked up a shirt I had previous bought that was too big for Andrew. When Andrew opened his eyes, he knew that wasn't his present. He started whining (playing). Duke then asked him to turn on our space heater. He started picking up stuff from the floor because he knew Dad had hidden his present. Looking all over (and never seeing the big box in front of the TV), we finally gave him a clue. He looked to left of the TV, then to the right. About then, he looked down. He was speechless. He then screamed "ROCK BAND" and started running all over the room.
Needless to say, Andrew was rather disappointed that he did not have school today. He got to play Rock Band all day. He is pretty good. I think he'd give any of you adults a run for your money. Maybe we can train him for the praise band.

I've Fallen and I Can't Get Up
Yesterday, I had to go to a class. Yes, teachers take classes too. Everyone knows how warm it was Friday (no ice). Well, I left at 7 am to get to 38th and Post Rd. by 8. Believe it or not, I was on time. I had my books in my one hand and my diet coke in the other. Got to have my morning caffeine you know. I started into the building. Let me say one thing. There was one small, single patch of ice. Yes, you got it. I did not see it and down I went. I was so embarrassed. Thank God there was no one in sight. I really thanked God for that. Well, needless to say, I have a skinned knee and am very sore today. I had to sit through an 8 hour class with my knee throbbing, but I made it through the day.

Busy, Long Weekend
Well, for the first time in history. IPS closed while many others just had a delay. Brownsburg was also closed, but only because they had a half day. Andrew and I did absolutely nothing. I guess God was preparing me for what was coming. Saturday morning I got a call from my Mom that my grandma was being taken to the hospital. 911 was how she put it. As if there is another way to get the hospital via ambulance. Anyway. I was pretty upset. Mom said she was non-responsive. We just went through this right after Papaw died and I just wasn't ready. So I called Duke. After I dialed, Andrew asked who I called.
I said "Dad".
His reply, "He won't answer."
My response, "Why not?"
"His phone is downstairs."
Kids are so smart.
I knew Duke had been at Men's fraternity, so I called Pastor. He said Duke had already left. So I figured that he would be home before I finished getting dressed. I got dressed. No Duke. I brushed my hair and teeth. No Duke. I took my medicine. No Duke. I know you must think I live real far from church. If he was walking maybe. I waited as long as I could. So Andrew and I got into the truck. Did I mention that the truck has no heat? Well, I am still upset. So I begin praying. I know I was selfish, but I prayed that God would not do this right. I wasn't ready. I really thought about this later and was totally surprised when he actually answered my selfish prayer. Now, I am praying that God prepare me for when he does take Mamaw. I still haven't figured out where Duke was, so Andrew and I decide to try to drive by Meijer. Before we get there, Duke calls. he was at church (in the sound booth) and everyone had thought he left. Pastor saw his car and went back in looking for him. I immediately did a U-turn and headed for the hospital. Andrew was upset that I was driving sixty in a fifty. I was so caught up in praying that I did not even realize. Thanks, Andrew for looking out for me. We spent the day at the hospital. They admitted Mamaw for observation. And thank Pastor and Sarah for taking Andrew.
Sunday, we went to church and then back to hospital. Then we went to bed. Duke wakes me up after 1:00 a.m. and said my brother just called. Trevor had called him and said that he went to Wishard ER because he had an asthma attack. So I get dressed and drive downtown in the middle of the night. I get to the ER to find out he had been discharged and was no where to be found. I drove the streets of downtown for an hour trying to find him, but couldn't. I was so worried. He finally called Monday around 4:00. I guess he did not think I was worried. He is fine. the doctor said it was stress. Needless to say I was not worth much Monday. So now my weekend is over and back to work I went today. That is another post for another time.

Not Much Happening
I really thought I would do better about blogging, but it has been 2 weeks since my last blog. Sorry everyone. I am so busy at work and then exhausted when I get home. I was actually relieved that church was cancelled tonight. I had a headache yesterday that carried over to today. I did not think it was a migraine, but finally I decided to try my migraine medicine since nothing else was working. It took about 2 hours to break and then the rest of the day with migraine after effects. I finally decided it was work...not what you think. They have been painting and they are not using odorless paint. Hopefully, they will be done soon.
Keep praying for Trevor. He has been at Wheeler Mission for a week now. I spoke with him on Saturday and unfortunately he seemed pretty content. I do not know what will motivate this kid.
As most of you know, I know have my new bone anchored hearing aid. But it is not working as well I as I would have liked. The audiologist is convinced that the shaft (part in my head that holds the hearing aid) is too short. If this is indeed true, I will need to have surgery to have a longer one put in. I do not think it will be as intensive as the first one, but surgery is surgery. Pray that they can figure something else out for it and get it working correctly.
