Paula

Many of you do not know my sister Paula, but many do. We went to a viewing together tonight and she needs a lot of prayer. She has been on short term disability since the end of June and is not to return to work until after Labor Day. They think she has a bipolar disorder. That is not the main reason for prayer. She told me that she missed church and that she has visited several churches in the past and none are Hope. She says she will think about coming Sunday. Pray, pray, pray. She is worried what others will think.

Dear Lord,
Please be with Paula in these difficult times. But most importantly, bring her back to your fold. She needs you now more than ever and she needs her brothers and sisters in Christ. Give her the strength that she needs to take the first step back to you. AMEN.

Rough Week

This week has been a very hard week. It started when my niece Sabrena's dad died over the weekend. His viewing was Tuesday Night and the Funeral was Wednesday. Duke's work van was in the truck and he wanted to drive my truck so 2 people did not have to drive to Kokomo. I preferred not, but the loving wife that I am, I traded vehicles. I drove to the east side of town (Washington and Post Road) for the funeral. When I went to leave, Duke's truck had difficulty starting. then it died while I was at a stop light. Both times I was able to get it started. Then the real problem comes. I am on 70 W going to get Jessica and the truck was working hard to keep up to 50 mph and then at 45 mph. I decided I had better pull over. God was taking care of me, as soon as I got on the side of the highway, the truck died and it would not start. I called AAA. I then called a friend to pick me up. AAA got there in 20 minutes and my girlfriend got to my brother-in-laws about 10 minutes after I got there. During all of this my cell phone battery was about dead. We are currently down to 1 vehicle until my brother-in-law fixes the truck. it was the timing chain. Better than an engine or transmission.

Well, I want to thank God for his saving grace. I was at this funeral (the first funeral I have attended since Papaw died). It was very difficult. I am not sure if Steve was saved or not, but my guess would be not. The Pastor doing the funeral did not even talk about God's grace. I was very disappointed. I knew there were many people there who needed to hear about God's love and saving grace. I got a new appreciation for how we do things and am appreciative that Jim always tells people about God. I have a great church family and appreciate all of you.

High Speed Here I Am!!

I finally have high speed and it is working. Looking forward to catching up with all my blogging buddies. I will even be able to add pictures, providing I can figure it out.

No High Speed

Well, I thought I would be updating this from our new High Speed Internet, but for some reason God does not want me to have high speed. The cable guy came out, was here and hour and half and could not get high speed installed. I guess there is something wrong with the ethernet card. I really have no idea. So here I am updating on dial up again. Not much happening. We went and saw Trevor today. He looks good, but he just can't seem to get his act together. Please put in some extra prayers for him.

I Finally Got On

Thanks, Heidi. You must have given me some luck. Maybe I can give your appliances some luck back. Anyway, all is well. As for El Cinco, we were trying to be good stewards of our money and not spend bunches of money on High Speed. We have ATT service, which for some reason does not have high speed for us yet. They keep promising. It has been 9 months and it still hasn't happened. As for the Expedition, putting high priced gas in it is still cheaper than buying something new. It is paid off and we do not want a car payment. See, we are being good stewards of God's money. Not much happening, except that we are getting the pool concrete expanded, they are pouring the concrete today. Feel free to come over sometime and see it and even take a dip in the pool. Andrew swims almost everyday and boy is he tan. I can't say the same for Duke and I. I have gotten in one time (out of default-one of the kids was swimming and for some reason got scared to death and would not let go of the rope.) I had to go in after her, because her mom did not have her suit on. At least it was warm (95 degrees). Andrew likes to turn on the heater and then forget about it, so it had gotten left on over night. I guess Andrew did not get the message about being good stewards.

This is Heidi. I'm guest blogging for Kim. Why? Is she still in Daytona? Did she fall victim to a shark attack? Was her flight cancelled for all eternity? Nope. I can tell you that Kim and the family are in fact back home and all is well. Except for her internet service, which at the moment seems to be as reliable as the appliances in my house. For those of you keeping score, that's not very good. It seems the evil dial-up service refuses to let her on to update her blog. So I told her that I would bail her out and let you all know that the Tetrick family is alive and well and home in Indiana.
